City of Auburn Announces 2008 Avenue Kids at Auburn Ave Theater AUBURN, Wash. – January 16, 2008 - The City of Auburn announces its 2008 Avenue Kids series. Beloved stories and the books that contain them come to life on stage when these four plays come to Auburn. The series is a great experience for kids of all ages, featuring sing-along music, puppetry, exciting myths, fables, fairytales and real-life adventures. Capturing Auburn's Past Times Southeast Bureau Four-and-a-half decades of working for the railroads started with a job carrying the suitcases of strangers. It was the 1940s, and Rodger Campbell was a 16-year-old at Auburn Junior High when he scored a job lugging the travel gear of locals on their way to faraway places. He was paid $6 a day. By the 1950s, Campbell was making a healthy living working for Northern Pacific Railway as a yard clerk. His job: to ensure that trains rolled out of town with the correct cargo.

The funds will be applied toward museum improvements and educational programs. Two grants totaling $11,910 will allow the museum to expand its award-winning programs and exhibits.

Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Now Accepting Registrations for Dog Trot Fun Run Kristy Pachciarz, Special Events Coordinator FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: December 18, 2007 A new fun run designed for dog owners and their four-legged friends AUBURN, Wash. – December 18, 2007 - The Auburn Parks, Arts and Recreation Department is currently accepting registrations for Auburn’s inaugural 3K Dog Trot Fun Run/Walk, to be held Saturday, May 31 at 9 a.m. The first 100 participants to register will receive a FREE event T-Shirt and goodie bag! The pre-registration fee is $15 per entry. Event day registration is $20 per entry. Dog Trot is a family-oriented 3K fun run/walk event that takes place in conjunction with Petpalooza at Auburn’s Game Farm Park, 3030 R Street SE. The course is flat, easy and enjoyable for all ages and ability levels. Awards will be distributed to the top participant in five age groups. Child (8 and under); tween (9-12 years); teen (13-19); adult (20-54) and adult (55+). Along with completed registration form and payment, dog owners are required to show proof of vaccinations at the time of registration. Participants may register at the Parks, Arts & Recreation Office, 910 Ninth Street SE, fax to 253-931-4005 or mail to 910 Ninth Street SE, Auburn, WA 98002.
